The new normal?

2024 was the first year since covid hit that I went to more than a few concerts. I have to say it’s not the same anymore. I’m still wearing a mask when surrounded by lots of people for longer periods of time (trains, airplanes, concerts…) and it’s stressful in a sticky, sweaty concert location. Definitely downgrades the experience. The other thing is smokers. I want to capture all smokers, tar and feather them and display them at the city gates. Smokers are the worst, disrespectful idiots that deserve to be run over by a diesel truck transporting cheap chicken meat. Of course smoking is not allowed in these venues but who cares, right? Let’s ruin the evening for others by lighting up. Had to leave some shows over the years because I couldn’t breathe anymore. Disgusting. The other thing more often than not ruins the evening is sound. I don’t know what it is but either you do a crappy punk show with shit sound for little money or you charge a lot for the ticket – but if you do, you’d better deliver and get the sound right. Have seen so many shows in Berlin now over the past years where the sound was truly horrible. No fun. I’m sort of losing patience with all of this and will likely reduce my concert going in 2025.

Anyway, finished the 2024 season with Kreator and Anthrax, lovely evening.
