I’ve now tattooed „Alabama“ next to the swastika on mz chest. But apart from that, we’re still sooo suuuper. We spent a couple of days on the WestCoast which is truly fantastic. Shame on me that I’ve ignored this part for so long. After three woderful days in Cape Foulwind, which by now really has earned it’s name we drove down to Fox Glacier and then, on the next day, which is today, which makes a somewhat strange sentence, but it’s not a tautology if you do not rule out time-travel a priori, well, then, today, we crossed the Southern Alps and are now based in Wanaka. Which is a lot like Queenstown, only much nicer and less crowded.
I’ve promised some pictures, so here we go.
How’s that for a bedroom window view (Hopewell Backpackers)?
And what about the sunset on Pohara beach?
Dune aka Wharariki beach, although Isabella Rossellini was nowhere to be found, still pretty.

We had a fantastic meal at the Bayhouse Cafe in Tauranga Bay, Cape Foulwind, really, really excellent, lovely, tasty. I’m so in love with Pacific Rim Cuisine. The accommodation (Steeples Homestay) was equally good, very lovely host, beautiful cottage right on the cliff, all mod cons. We spent only one night in Fox Glacier but I reckon we got the max out of our time there. Accommodation was good too (Fox Glacier Mountainview B&B) with a very knowledgeable host who truky knows everzthing about New Zealand. Everzthing. I promise. Wanaka is pretty in a positive sense and both driving days have been fantastic. The whole West Coast is so unbelievable beautiful and the drive to Wanaka via Haast Pass is just as good. I’m lost for words. I’m also out of coins real soon, so I’d better hurry up. We’ll do some serious hiking around Wanaka, Mt Aspiring National Park in the next two days and I’ll probably kill some more hippies. Did I tell you that I really hate them? They stink. And I fucking hate campervans. And the people that live in them. And I hate – that’s enough. Sun is shining, flowers still growing out of me behind. I still enjoy playing Skrewdriver on the car stereo whilst pulling up next to some dirty creatures in the parking lot. Smile and let nature guide you, over and out, the Tanmaster.
Ganz großes Kino. Neid! Habt Spaß und genießt eure Auszeit!
