Masturbating German Christians

What a disgusting title, right? But first things first. We made it to NZ after all. When I wrote that nothing could stop us now in my last post I kinda forgot to add ‚except my own stupidity’….. . Ever missed a flight because you misread the boarding pass? How stupid is that? :O well, apparently not stupid enough for me.  So yes, we did miss the fucking flight and had to wait another day. Finally managed to hop on a Singapore Airlines flight on Sunday evening that got us to CHC Tuesday morning. So that part was more or less fucked up, but since then everything has been just perfect. As is the SIA economy class btw, rather embarrassing for most other airlines that SIA’s eco is better than their premium ecos. Or even business in case of KLM. Good for us though, very relaxing flight and great service. And hey, maybe SIA could teach the fuckers at Cathay how to prepare decent food?

Intermission. I’m writing this on my mobile and I really have a hard time to get the suggestion / look ahead algorithm to spell out Fuck (although the auto correction to ‚dick‘ is funny as well), fucking and fuckers. But it’s learning fast,  by the end of the trip it will be well versed in expletives. 🙂

Not wanting to waste any time in CHC we picked up our car immediately after arrival and drove to Mt Cook village. In the past, Mt cook has not been to accommodating to us, we never even got to see the mountains because it was raining so much. Not this time though. Brilliant sunshine, no clouds, perfect conditions. Best of all possible worlds. 🙂 there’s nothing better than to watch the sunrise from up a track lighting up the face of the glaciers. Or breakfasting on the shore of a glacial lake facing a calving glacier, relaxing in the morning sun. Or doing perfect yoga kopfstands in front of the Hooker glacier. It was the perfect start of our trip, we used the jetlag to get an alpine start the first three days.

Yesterday,  when we were leaving Aoraki, the clouds were really low again, so our timing was perfect indeed. We drove a few k to Lake Tekapo, not for the silly church, but for a morning hike up Mt John and then breakfast at the Astrocafe. Yummy, I recommend the Astrosandwich,  the friands and the berry smoothie. The Reisebegleitung recommends the coffee. 🙂 the best thing was that Lake Tekapo was the only sunny spot within a 150k radius, so again, perfect timing. Which feels kinda weird, all this good weather etc, maybe the weltgeist is trying to make up for the flight disaster? The hike up Mt John is worth the effort, we took the long way up, on the exposed slopes, with stunning amazing mind boggling beautiful lake and mountain views all the way. And then the steep way down, through the forest. This is where we saw two girls MASTURBATING a fir tree. You got to read that out loud, no matter where you are right now. More to follow because I’m hungry now, but I promise a detailed account of this Masturbation scene, squirrel sperm, and German fucking Christians in my next post! Promise.

After this little leg stretcher we drove east to Geraldine, a little town we’ve come to like for its great great food. Where better to celebrate the Reisebegleitung’s birthday than at the lovely Cafe Verde? Three hours to go. 🙂 yesterday afternoon we hiked Allan’s track in the nearby Peel forest. The forest rocks, one of the last original forests on the south island, beautiful old trees, giant totaras, heaps of ferns … And tons of mud. 🙂
