06 Carrapateira – Arrifana
The good thing about there being no breakfast in Carrapateira is that we got an early start! đ Also, There’s no need to follow the official detour route along the road, it’s easy easy to walk down to the beach and cross unless the weather is truly intimidating. It’s not only shorter but also soooo much nicer. Wonderful sand dunes and a gigantic empty beach! The track is wonderful again, great coastal views plus a nice detour to the ‚top‘ of Monte Novo. There’s a nice restaurant at Monte Novo, more or less halfway, so the perfect rest stop after walking ‚uphill‘ through the sand for quite a while. Great salads, good coffee and of course the fresh OJ we’re celebrating every day.
