10 Zambujeira do Mar – Almograve
Well, well, well. We enjoyed our last rest day in Zambujeira not doing much at all. Explored the beaches and parts of the coast to the North, ice cream, pastelaria, and a wonderful sunset. The day after saw us walking the last long stretch of our tour, along the coast to Almograve. This is really easy walking with another unexpected change in scenery along the way: extensive sand dunes, almost felt like Australia, minus the the gay cowboys. 😉 Also featured along this walk: A pretty lighthouse! Lighthouses make Reisebegleitungs happy, so a very good day in all.
Accommodation in Almograve was, well, interesting. Room was very new and all, but did not have any kind of heating and an extremely ill-fitted sliding door to separate bathroom and bedroom … . There is a Nepalese restaurant which is a few minutes along the main road and it’s well worth the detour. Nice people and really good vegetarian food. Thank you! 🙂 Then quickly into bed because, well, bloody cold without insulation or heating. Not the best night of sleep, but at least it was short. 😀 The mini mercado next door opens at 6.30am, so I braved the cold night, grabbed some still warm Natas and a coffee for the Reisebegleitung and we were off to an early start on our last leg.
