Singapore, hit me baby one more time
I’ll try and not rave too much about how much I like Singapore. But I DO like it, a lot. Wonderful place. I’m always trying to stay in different areas, helps with exploring different paths and layers of this huge place. We stayed at Katong Village and I can totally recommend this. Lovely area. Not as high gloss skyscraper fancy as some other areas, but lots of heritage buildings. And fantastic food, as usual, everywhere. There’s plenty of buses running and it’s often easier and quicker to take the bus compared to the metro. Too many great culinary delights to mention them all. But Birds of Paradise ice cream deserves highlighting, absolutely delicious, the mandarin sorbet was from a different planet. Dawn is quite hidden but a wonderfully quiet cafe, great coffee, good cake, beautiful design. And last but certainly not least: Embrace Chocolate on Joo Chiat Rd is a must visit if you like chocolate. Even if you don’t you should go there, because they are really nice and have great products. Fantastic chocolate!

We also did a little bit of walking, exploring Bukit Timah & Hindhede nature reserve trails. Lush forests with some WWII history.

East Coast Park to Gardens by the Bay & Joo Chiat Katong Village – beautiful buildings, wall paintings, flowers, and trees (real and artificial).

Finally, a bit of the usual Changi craziness before heading back home to dreary, dark Germany:
